This began as a log of travels as I explored with small motorhome, as well as traveled to Europe. Now using Chicago as a base, I continue to travel both in the US and Europe via automobile (now a Subaru Outback) as well as flying to destinations.

Shuttle Lift Off
For the second morning I was awake at 4 a.m. monitoring NASA TV feed for the status of the countdown. The second time worked and two of my neighbors and I watched a spectacular night launch. Photos aren't that great but I wanted to post this one.
So... I was up two nights to watch the Shuttle also. I was inspired by Carolyn McIntyre from the SoloTrekkers group who was there. Were you there with her? Or can you see this from home? We were emailing back and forth at 3 am. The Nasa channel on direct tv was great. Watch for a big launch from Vandenberg next December. Not manned, of course. Judy
